Diyun,
– May 14, 2025:
In a remarkable display of community spirit and collective responsibility, the long-neglected 10 KM Innao-Diyun road has been successfully restored—without any sanctioned government funds. This initiative stands as a shining example of what can be
accomplished when citizens, officials, and volunteers unite with a
shared purpose.
Spearheaded by Shri Abraham Modi, EAC, along with the Assistant Engineer, PWD Diyun, the effort brought together people from all walks of life. Residents, local youth, volunteers, and civil service officers contributed time, resources, and labour to transform a once-dilapidated stretch into a functional and safe road. "This wasn’t just about repairing a road, " said one community member. "It was about showing that we
don’t have to wait for change—we can be the change. "
More than a physical reconstruction, the project symbolized resilience, cooperation, and hope, setting a precedent for citizen-driven development in the region. The restored Innao-Diyun road now stands as a living example of how public spirit and leadership
can fill the gaps where official mechanisms fall short. The success of this initiative has inspired similar discussions in neighbouring areas, highlighting the potential of people-led infrastructure improvement projects.
